Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Robert was born on July 8, 1963, in Hannibal, the son of Robert Henry and Vera Dorthel (Smith) Abright.
Survivors include one son, Joshua Lee Kitchen; three brothers, William Abright, Ronnie Abright, and John Abright; three sisters, his twin sister Roberta Elliott, Mary Abright, and Dora Abright LaFond; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Abright was preceded in death by one brother, R. Wesley Abright; one brother-in-law, Marvin Elliott; and one great-nephew, Brayden Abright.
Robert had worked at several area restaurants around the Hannibal area as a cook. Robert loved to listen to music — anything from country to classic rock. He also enjoyed babysitting his nieces and nephews when they were younger. Robert was an avid Cardinals and Chiefs fan. The thing Robert cherished the most was spending time with his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Griggs, Jr., Jimmy Grisham, Branden LaMont, Bro. Bob Bixler, Daniel Bowen and Jeremy Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Elliott and Kenny Burchett.
Memorial contributions may be made to Smith Funeral Home & Chapel to assist the family with funeral expenses.
