Mr W D Armstrong whom resided about a mile southeast
of this city, died on Thursday morning after a prolonged
illness. His funeral occurred on Friday.

William was born in Connecticut. After His Mother's Death,
the family emigrated to Ohio. William remained near His Father.
William and Nancy, first met, in Oakland County, Michigan, 1840.
He settled, as a young man, in Wilmington Township, Dekalb Co,
Indiana, where He served as one of the first Constables.
William, also served, as a Trustee. His name is listed, as W D,
and can be found, with InGenWeb for Dekalb County, Indiana,
as an Early Pioneer Settler.

He farmed land, in Wilmington Township, until 1865, selling His
farm, and in later years, was found Farming, near His Children,
in Greene County, Iowa.

Children ~ John Lee, Mary, George William,
Walter Scott, Sophronia Emily, and Laura Etta.

There appears to be a Daughter, Anna. The Daughter
is actually Laura Etta. The Census Record is really difficult
to read.
