Obituary: Evening News, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Tuesday, 25 April 1989, reads: Ruth Pixley; Funeral services for Ruth Hoke Pixley, 83, formerly of R. 2, Pekin, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Daisy Hill United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Saturday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Washington County, a former employee of Jeffboat Inc. and a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, William F. Pixley of Kissimmee, Fla., Ehrman R. Pixley of Newark, Calif., and Gerald V. Pixley of Hartwood, Va.; five daughters, Fern Davis, Mildred Guernsey and Donna Morris, all of Seattle, Audrey Guernsey of Louisville and Brenda Pixley of Butlerville; a brother, John P. Hoke of Florida; a sister, Mildred McKinley, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church after 10 a.m. Thursday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
