Lucy Cary Dysart age 86, of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully at her home in Wimberley, TX on August 4th, 2016. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on August 17th at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Wimberley, TX with Rev. Sandy Casey-Martus officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Anna, TX. Lucy was born in Dallas, TX on April 13th, 1930. After graduating from the Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, she worked at the Dallas Morning News. On January 13th, 1951, she married Gordon Randall Dysart at the Church of the Incarnation in Dallas. After starting their family, she devoted her time to being a mother and volunteer extraordinaire. She served as president and/or was on the Board of Directors of many organizations in Dallas. Most notably, as President of the Dallas Southern Memorial Association, Lucy was the recipient of the Keystone Award from Dallas Mayor Jack Evans' Task Force on Preservation Incentives for Downtown Historic Landmark Buildings "for her tremendous role in spear-heading the restoration of Arlington Hall in Lee Park". She later founded and served as President of the Park Cities Historical Society. After retiring to Wimberley in 1991, she was involved in the St. Stephen's Women's Guild, the Wimberley Players, and the Wimberley Institute of Cultures just to name a few! Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Randall Dysart, and her two precious daughters, Katherine Cary Dysart and Lucile de Warren Dysart. Lucy is survived by nephews Clark Willey and wife Lisa, Robert Dysart and wife Leoni, Leland Dysart III and wife Shawna, and niece Pandora Dysart and husband Earl Wood. She is also loved by all her great nieces and nephews: Jared and Shannon Willey, Emma Dysart, and Leland IV and Kathryn Dysart. The family of Lucy Dysart wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Melodye Gardner P.A., Mrs. Shelly Linkhart, Heart to Heart Hospice, and the many dear friends who have shown her so much love the past few months.
