Adeline Foscolo November 21, 2006
Adeline Foscolo, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, at Van Duyn surrounded by her loving family. After graduation, Aunt Lil, as she was affectionately called by her nieces and nephews, worked as a seamstress at various clothing factories in the area. Adeline then attended comptometer school and through Civil Service exams obtained a position at the Court House doing data entry and verification work. She thoroughly enjoyed her work experience and made many friends and acquaintances along the way. Adeline retired from the county at 66 years of age. Adeline was a very gentle and sweet woman who loved her family dearly. She never talked ill of anyone and was very kind hearted and endearing. She enjoyed traveling and through the years recalled many memories of her journey's to Italy, Hawaii, California and Florida. In her later years, Adeline especially looked forward to dining out with her sister-in-law, Gilda and nieces as often as possible. Adeline will always be remembered, loved, and is dear to our hearts.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Carmella Foscolo; sisters, Mary DeSantis and Ernestine Foscolo; nephew, Dominick DeSantis; brothers, Joseph, Ralph, and Nicholas; sister in-law, Gilda Foscolo and cousin, Joe Piparata.
Survivors: Sister-in-law, Ida Foscolo; nephews, Nicholas (Barbara) Foscolo of Syracuse, David (Theresa) Foscolo, of Grand Island, NY, Ralph (Mickie) Foscolo of Florida, and Robert Foscolo of Seattle; nieces, JoAnn Consroe of Syracuse and Patricia (Michael) Kane of Cazenovia; great-nephews, Shane Consroe, Jamie (Amy) Foscolo, and Michael Kane; great-nieces, Erin Kane, Debbie Foscolo, and Cathy Foscolo; great-great-nephew, Ryan Foscolo; cousin, Audrey Piparata.
Calling Hours: Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at FARONE & SON, 1500 Park Street. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial in Assumption Cemetery.
