"Nancy L. Howell
Ottawa---Nancy Louise Howell, 84, of Ottawa, Boone County, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1991, in Logan General Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Floyd County, KY.
Surviving: sons, John N. of Jeffrey, William of Chapmansville, Howard of North Canton, OH; daughter, Jean L. Henry of Fort Myers, Fla; brother, Marvin Akers of Berea, KY.; Sisters, Ella Belle Moore, Grace Goble, Ethel Hall and Shirley Davis, of Prestonsburg, KY.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 pm Sunday at Stevens Funeral home, Madison, with Ralph Caudill and Max Cook officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm today at the funeral home."

Nancy was the daughter of Albert Lee Akers and Elon Octavia Burchett. She married William Halsey Howell on 9 June 1929 in Floyd Co., KY. William Halsey Howell died in a coal mine accident on 15 September 1952 in Ethel, Logan Co., WV and is buried in Auxier Relocation Cemetery, Auxier, Floyd Co., KY. Nancy and William had one daughter who preceeded them in death, Octavia Bell Howell, who is buried near or next to her father.
