Jerry Leon Williamson Sr., 90, of Columbia passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
Jerry was born April 20, 1926 in Fulton to Heskett and Mildred Hopkins Williamson.
He joined the United States Navy in 1944 and proudly served in WWII.
He married Geraldine Elizabeth Blumer on July 4, 1946, in Manhattan, KS, and she preceded him in death.
He was a meat cutter and front-end manager for Bob's Market and then became a front-end manager for Nowells Super Market. He loved to play golf. He was an active member of Grace Bible Church in Columbia.
Survivors include four children, Jerry (Sonny) Williamson, Jr., Robert Williamson and wife Mary, Larry Williamson and Marcy Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Linda Williamson; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Geraldine; a son, Randy Williamson; a daughter, Mary Ann Williamson; sister, Zula Mordica; and brothers, Emmerson, Wally, and Duane Williamson, Jimmy, Benny, and Charlie Gilpin.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Parker Funeral Service.
A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice Compassus, Macon office, 707 East Briggs Drive, Ste B, Macon, Mo., 63552, or the Central Missouri Honor Flight, 1400 Forum Blvd., Ste 1-C, Box 334, Columbia, Mo., 65203.
