DOUGHERTY β€” Services for Omagene W. Giddens, 93, Dougherty, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Dougherty Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard McCartney Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Dougherty Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Born Aug. 8, 1923, in Dougherty, to Leon and Oda Christine (Todd) Hampton, she passed away Monday, Aug. 8 in Sulphur.

She had lived in the Dougherty area all her life, graduating from Dougherty High School. She married Carol Giddens on July 4, 1942, in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1979.

Omagene worked as a beautician before working as a houseparent at OSD until her retirement. She was a member of the Dougherty Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Johnny Giddens.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jenene and Billy Clary, Sulphur; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Nita Giddens, Lone Grove and Ray and Barbara Giddens, Davis; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Carol Giddens, Moore; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Giddens, Brian Guerin, Cody Guerin, Sandy McCartney, Timmy Stinson and Aaron Morgan.
