Laura was youngest of eight children, her siblings were Mary, Charlie, Sammy, Fleetwood, Eliza, Frank and Maggie.
September 9, 1897 Laura united in marriage with John L Alexander. To their union fourteen children were born; Ersa, Wilbur, Harold, Lawrence, Amos, Ruth, Laura, Nellie, Percy, Mary, Dearl, Delbert, Leona and an unnamed son.
Laura was a stay at home mother. She cared for her husband and children. She and John had the heartache of losing eight of their children when they were very young: Ersa at 5 years old, Harold at 8 years, Laura at 7 years, Nellie at 4 months, Percy at 4 years, Ruth at 5 days, Wilber at 15 years and an unnamed son the day of his birth.
John and Laura resided in Washington Court House and were two of the founding members of Second Baptist Church.
