Mollie Whetstone Cox, 92, of North Charleston, a retired teacher, died Friday in a local nursing home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Stuhr's North Area Chapel. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Mrs. Cox was born in Rowesville, a daughter of Frank W. Whetstone and Elizabeth Fairey Whetstone. She was a graduate of Columbia College and was a member of the Retired South Carolina State Teachers Association. She was a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church and was the widow of Lawrence E. Cox. Surviving are three sisters, Margaret Evans of Orangeburg, Gertrude Whetstone of Rowesville and Annie Dunivant of North Charleston; and a brother, Frank W.
