His siblings were: Jefferson (1808-1848), Thomas (1810-1811), Emily (1812-1893), Justis (1814-1876), Mary (1819-1879), Amanda (1821-1859), Betsey (1823-1844), and Fanny (b. 1827).
Bishop married, March 15, 1838, his 1st wife Almira (Emma) (Elimina) Jones (1800-1848) by whom he had 3 children (1 son and 2 daughters): Susan (1842-1869), Darius (1844-1916), and Emma Rosalia (1846-1926). After his 1st wife died, Bishop married, June 13, 1850, Ascenath McFarren (1829-1891) by whom he had 2 more children (1 son and 1 daughter): Henry B. (1852-1901) and Nettie L. (1858-1920).
