Grandma Green, colored, died at the home of Mrs. Ann Downing, in this city, Friday night, December 9, after an extended illness, aged about 87.

Mrs. Green was the oldest colored person in our city and was a lady who always commanded the respect of her numerous acquaintances. When her people got sick she was always ready and willing to assist in caring for them. Possessing a very kind disposition, Mrs. Green naturally had many warm friends who were very sorry to learn of her death. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of this city, having united with that church when a young lady.

Funeral services were held at the Second Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Butler, of Kirksville. Interment was made in Memphis cemetery.
