Alfred was knocked down whilst bush-felling with two others at Wakapuaka on Friday 9th November 1894. He was unconscious for some until he died at 11.40 am on Saturday 10/11/1894. The coroner's jury returned a verdict "of accidental death and that no blame could be attached to anyone"

Several of the Frost/Ahlstrom family are recorded as interred within plot 018. However, the headstone only mentions Emily Frost who died in 1934.
