Peter was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a gifted athlete and played semi-pro basketball. He served in the US Army in Italy during WWII with the Polar Bear division and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery.
Peter and his wife Geraldine ("Gerry") moved to Concord, California, with their family in 1956, where he worked for and retired from the post office.
He was admired by all for his warm, caring and gregarious nature.
Peter was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Gerry. He is survived by his five daughters, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A private service was held on December 7, 2015, and he was reunited with Gerry at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
