Margaret Brandon, 100, passed away October 15th at Good Samaritan Home in Larimore, North Dakota.
Margaret was born on June 2, 1916 in Tioga North Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Julia Aardahl. The family moved to Whitman where she was confirmed and where she and her 6 siblings attended school. After Margaret graduated from high school the family moved to Larimore. Margaret worked at the café and met the love of her life, Lester Brandon. They were married at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in 1938 which became her church home for 78 years.
Margaret was active in the church circle, Bible study, choir, served on the church council and taught Sunday school for decades. She always had time for friends and family. Margaret was active in civic and political activities within the community.
Surviving members of her family are sons Ron (Marilyn) of Georgetown, Texas, Jim (Bonnie) of Brainerd, Minnesota; brother Clay of Pasadena, California; sister Joyce Barrett of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren, 3 great greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; parents Peter and Julia; and brothers Norman, Henry, Leslie, and Maynard.
MEMORIALS may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Concordia College or the Salvation Army.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Larimore, ND.
VISITATION: Wednesday, October 19 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday.
INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, ND
