Helen Larae Alvarez, 86, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 10, 2016. She was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Malad, Idaho, to John E. Blaisdell and Florence Blaisdell (nee Barber), and was a 51-year resident of Las Vegas. Helen worked in the retail industry most of her professional life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sergio V. Alvarez. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Sthultz, Carolyn Alvarez, Teresa Noyola and Barbara Partain. Helen also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
