Dorothy was born on November 29, 1933 in Peoria to Edward H. and Irma T. Angel Allison. She married Donald M. Cox on August 8, 1951 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2013.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two infant children, one infant grandson, one brother, Edward J. Allison and two sisters, Anna Marie Franklin and Marilyn J. Jones.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Danny Cox of East Peoria; four grandchildren, Tecoa, Daniel, Baylee, and Jensen; four great-grandchildren, Josten, Hunter, Addison, and Aydin.
Dorothy worked at Foster Gallagher for a number of years then worked as a homemaker, always devoted to her family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Peoria for 43 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Cloverleaf Chapter 1002 in East Peoria and Abbas Grotto #49 of East Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Easter Seals in Peoria.

A funeral service for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. There will be a visitation on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville.
