Son of Edward Henry and Irma Theresa Angel Allison, he married Georgia Ann Smith on Aug. 9, 1952, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Ralph E. and William D.; two daughters, Caron (Charles) Boland and Darla (Gary) Jones; three sisters, Anna Marie Franklin, Marilyn Jones and Dorothy (Donald) Cox; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and one step great-grandson.

He worked at Commercial Solvents for 19 years. He later was machine repairman for Caterpillar Inc. at the foundry in Mapleton for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974.

A world War II Navy veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 2.
