Nancy Wells was the 1st wife and Mother of 9 children with Joseph Bradford Morton.

Nancy was from Powell's Valley, Virginia. She died a year after they traveled to Kansas when it opened up for settlement in 1854. She died of consumption. Her husband Joseph stayed in Kansas for 7 years before returning to Nebraska.
