Harvey J. Curtis
Orlando, Fla. - Harvey J. Curtis, 78, retired judge of the Indiana Appellate Court and former board chairman of Mid-City Investment Co., Gary, died in his home Tuesday.
A native of Argos, Ind., he served three four-year terms on the appellate court. He retired from the judiciary position in 1948.
Survivors include the widow, a son, a daughter and a brother, Luther Curtis of Gary.

Curtis, Mr. Harvey Jackson - Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Jackson Curtis, age 78, of 1631 Mt. Vernon Ave., who died at his residence, Tuesday afternoon, will be held at 3 p.m. , Friday, Dec. 31, 1954 at the chapel of the Hawthorne Funeral Home. Mr. Curtis was a retired judge of the Indiana Appellate Court; a graduate of the University of Michigan; a Mason; a member of the Gary, Ind., and Indiana State Bar Associations, and chairman of the board of directors of the Mid-City Investments Co., of Gary, Ind. Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Bessie E. Curtis; son, John R. Curtis, Sr., Orlando; daughter, Mrs. Isabel Smith, Miami; brother, Luther Curtis, Gary, Ind.; and five grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hawthorne Funeral Home with interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
