Mrs. Richard Curtis
Jane Curtis, daughter of John and Mary Davis, was born in Henry County, Indiana, December 2, 1838 and departed this life on her 80th birthday, December 2, 1918.
She was united in marriage with James Robey in 1862. To this union were born three children, one of whom, Mrs. L.J. Oliver of Argos, Indiana, survives. This union was broken in 1868 by the death of her husband.
She was united in her second marriage with Richard Curtis in the spring of 1870. To this union were born 4 children, C.H. Curtis of Gary, Indiana; Clara Louverne, at home; H.J. of Gary, Indiana and L.J. of Moore, Montana, all of whom survive. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 brother, 4 sisters, many other relatives and a host of friends.
She was a church member practically all her life and for the past number of years she has been a member of the Progress Brethren Church of Tiosa, Indiana and remained faithful to the end.
Funeral services were conducted from the home Wednesday, December 4th at 2 o'clock by Rev. A.W. Sparks of the Christian Church of Argos, Indiana. Interment in the Maple Grove cemetery at Argos.
