Adele Davis Benson, age 81 a resident of Summerdale, AL passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Mrs. Benson is a transplanted yankee from north Maine. She was a devoted military wife that loved her family. Mrs. Benson was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Elberta, AL for 49 years where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a choir member and an organist. She loved to paint. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Freedith Davis; husband, John Benson; grandchildren, Nathan Benson and Mary Beth Bruhn; brother, Samuel Davis and sister, Jane Davis. She is survived by one daughter, Octavia (Michael) Bruhn of Elberta, AL; two sons, LeRoy (Mary Ann) Benson of Pensacola, FL and Mark (Charlene) Benson of Summerdale, AL; sister, Wilma Davis; brother, Edgar Davis both of Massachusetts; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church in Elberta, AL with Rev. Robert Evans officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale, AL.
