Alma Parker, age 107, of Stoverville, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 19, 1909, in Ava, Missouri, the daughter of Barney and Carrie (Turner) Mallonee. Her parents; her husband, Walter Parker; and two sons, Clarence Parker and Cletius Parker, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Mountain Springs Church. She loved to garden and can everything she grew. Alma worked hard all of her life, working in cotton fields in Arkansas and beet fields in Colorado, to name a few. She was recently recognized as the oldest living member of the Northern Cherokee Nation. She was given the name ''Yellow Rose'' by Chief Kenn Grey Elk on her 107th birthday. Alma was a great storyteller and the family would always ask for and be entertained by her lifelong stories.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Irene Deibert, Fayrene Hale, and Maxine Gibbins; 23 grandchildren; and an abundance of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Kenneth Clark officiating. Open visitation.

Interment is in Crossroads Cemetery in the Stoverville Community.

Pallbearers are Glen Parker, William Robbins, Charles Parker, Johnny Beaver, Jerry Parker and Bradley Clark.

Honorary pallbearers are John Robbins, Andrew Robbins, Wade Gibbons, Floyd Gibbons and Wayne Hale.
