Charles Ellington Johnston, age 92, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 in Forrest City. Mr. Johnston was born December 10, 1923 in Fordton, Alabama to the late William and Abigail Johnston. He was a member of Elaine Methodist Church. Mr. Johnston worked in sales at Delta Hardware and he owned the Kountry Kitchen restaurant in Elaine.

He is survived by one son, Eddie Johnston (Linda) of Elaine; one daughter, Judy Johnson of Southaven, Mississippi; four grandchildren, David Johnston, Stacy Johnston, Mary Kay Mora and Brooks Johnson; six grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Robie Permenter of Vilonia; two brothers, Bob Johnston (Dorothy) of Elaine and Curtis Johnston (Kim)of Red Banks, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn Laws Johnston; and six brothers, Alfred, Robert, Cletis, Clayton, Aaron and Hollis.

A graveside service for Charles Johnston will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City. Brother Luke Watson will officiate.
