They raised three girls (aka Charlie’s Angels) together and attended Teays Valley Presbyterian Church. Karen Rollyson Carr (Mike) of Eleanor was his loving caretaker for the last year of his life. Judy Rollyson Hervall (Håkan) of Novato, California. Rita Rollyson Thompson predeceased him in 2004. One brother Bob (Char) of Canton, OH and is predeceased by two brothers (Jim and Maurice) and one sister (Lillian Vilk). They lived in Hurricane until moving to Eleanor in 2005.
He remained in his home until his death; with hospice assistance the last 2.5 months of his life. Charles loved to travel and of all the countries and places he had visited, stated that Bluestone Family Church Camp was his favorite. His humor, his faith, his love of family was evident to everyone. He loved to play games (especially sequence) and spending time with his six grandchildren - Jonathan (Christina) Carr, Lindsay Carr Lanham (Steven) of Eleanor; Kiera Thompson Pudifin (B-Ray), Erin Thompson (Jason) of Houston, Texas; Elin Hervall of Henderson, NV and Erik Charles Hervall currently residing in Korea. Visitation at Chapman Funeral Home in Teays Valley on Tuesday August 30th from 4-6 pm with a short chapel service, officiated by Kyle Key, following at Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens in Red House with military and Masonic rites. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Teays Valley Presbyterian Church OWLS.
The Memorial Service, which we encourage all friends and family to attend, is on October 1st 2-5 pm at Lionheart Chateau/Crist Castle in Hurricane with service beginning at 3.
