Their children are Independence Elen Schular(IES) , Barbara, President Polk (PP), Martin Van Buren, LaFayette, twins Isabella and Henrietta Ann, and Paulina. A son named George Washington Alexander was the child of Jessee Alexander and Dorcas Schuylar. He is named in the will as deceased. He was a Union soldier but died in 1862, not long after enlisting. Records state he died in Memphis but a grave has not yet been located.
