BROOKLYN, N.Y. | Alexander Huggins, 73, of Brooklyn, N.Y., passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Born on April 14, 1943, to the late Elnora Lawson and James S. Huggins of Kinston, N.C.; he was an Adkin High School Pirate, class of 1962. Alexander leaves to cherish his memory five beautiful daughters, Sabrena Oliver of Greensboro, N.C., Della and Elnora Whitaker of Brooklyn, N.Y., Tarja "Buffy" Huggins of Washington, D.C., and Shavon Huggins of Queens, N.Y. He is also survived by five siblings, Essie Calvin, James C. Huggins, and Aleta "Faye" Huggins of Queens, N.Y., Darlene Ennett (Larry) of La Grange, N.C., and Antoinette Huggins of Raleigh, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends also complete his legacy. Alexander's homegoing service will take place on Friday, September 2, 2016, in Brooklyn, N.Y. at L.H. Woodard Funeral Home, 1 Troy Avenue, at 7 p.m. with viewing from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. On Tuesday, September 6, 2016, a second viewing will be hosted at Mills Funeral Home in Kinston, N.C., from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Interment is scheduled for noon in Goldsboro, N.C. at the East Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Local arrangements by Mills Funeral Home, Inc.
