Memphis, TN - Evelyn Redding Shivers, 85, of Memphis, passed away on August 31, 2016. The family will gather to receive friends on Saturday, September 3, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Evelyn loved RV camping, and along with her husband was a member of the River "M" Sam's RV Camping Club. She was a longtime member of Bartlett Woods Church of Christ and formerly the Raleigh Church of Christ. Mrs. Shivers worked for many years with Allstate Insurance and was one of the first female insurance agents. Evelyn was always a joy to be around, and she had a smile that would light up the room. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Charles E. Shivers; two daughters, Carol Terry (Trotter) and Patsy Shivers; her son, Charles W. Shivers (Lois); 3 grandsons, Kyle and Ross Terry, and Cody Shivers; her sister, Blanche Sumner; and her niece, Dolores Robinson.
