The daughter of Sam B. and Essie Howard Rose of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, she lived on St. Simons for 58 years, summering in Tennessee until the 1980s. A member of St. Simons United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi, she most enjoyed reading, sewing and visiting with friends and family. Described as "pixilated" by a friend, she was truly a delight to all who knew her personally.
Rosie was predeceased by Amos (S.A.) Williams, husband; Anne Rose Ward, sister; L. Howard Rose, brother; Dorothy Estep Clawson, cousin; Sam B. Rose III, nephew; and Lance Hughes, grandnephew.
Rosie is survived by Laura Keene Williams, daughter, of St. Simons Island and extended family in Tennessee and Virginia; Dr. Sam B. Rose Jr., brother; Jean Rose Hughes Lumetto and Cherie Rose Martin, nieces; Rusty (L.H. Jr.) Rose, nephew; James D. Estep Jr. and Anne Howard Estep, cousins; and their families, among others.
Services were private.
Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Simons Public Library, 330-A Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island, GA 31522, or to an organization of your personal choice.
