Charlotte Gouge Murphy, age 80, of Bowditch, went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 12th, 2016 at Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Aline Smith Gouge and the wife of the late Edd Murphy, who passed away in 2010. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother and three sisters: Jolene Silvers, Georgia Autrey and June Thomas. Charlotte worked for many years at Crabtree Meadows Coffee Shop.
A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 15th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Graveside services will follow in the Bowditch Cemetery with Rev. Keith Miller officiating.
