PARENTS: Joe and Lucy Weipah - Redthunder

Joanne "Bone" Redthunder, 61, was born August 8, 1954, into the Nespelem, Washington home of Joe and Lucy Weipah - Redthunder. Joanne passed on to her elders Thursday morning, March 24, 2016, from her Nespelem home.

A proud member of the Colville Confederated Tribes and Walasat (Seven Drum), Joanne enjoyed participating in Pow Wow. As a social worker with the Tribal Headstart Program she loved being called "Auntie" by the children. An avid pool player, Bone was also never far from one of her cameras, from which no one could escape.

Joanne was predeceased by a baby boy in 1980; sister-in-law: Jeannie Moon; and brothers: Kenneth Redthunder, Norman Redthunder, Morris Redthunder and Levi Redthunder. Her legacy lives on through the hearts of her brothers: Wilfred Redthunder (Atwice), Jackson Redthunder and Keith Redthunder; sister: Dorothy Redthunder; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Joanne's 2:00 pm dressing was held Friday, March 25, 2016, at Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee, Washington, with her wake, that evening at Nespelem Community Center, in Nespelem, with funeral services, Saturday morning, March 26, 2016. Graveside services followed at Chief Joseph Cemetery of Nespelem, Washington.

Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, is honored to be serving Joanne's family.
