Born in Weprowatz, Batschka, Austria-Hungary (prior to Yugoslavia, now Serbia) of Jakob Bauer & Barbara Maria Guth. He was a potter and had served in the Austro-Hungary military. He married Elisabeth Bohnert in Palanka 18 July 1898. He came to Trenton, NJ in January 1901. His wife Elisabeth Bohnert Bauer and sons Karl/Charles & Jacob followed in September 1901. A Donauschwaben & member of the Trenton Aurora Club. They moved across the river to Falls Township, Bucks County and bought a farm. Wife Elisabeth died in 1924. He then married her sister Anna Bohnert Ehaus 13 April 1925 in Morrisville.
He died 8 May 1950 in Fallsington, Bucks County, PA.
