Herman Neuway was a son of Heinrich Neuweg and Margareth Hagermann who came from Germany. Herman and other family members adopted a slightly different spelling so their last name would look like it was pronounced, Neuway. (Keith Neuway)

The following is from the Burrton Graphic dated April 8, 1904:
"Obituary - Herman Newey, well known in this vicinity, died at his home nine miles south of town, on April 5. The funeral services were held the next day and were conducted by Rev. Hughes. The deceased leaves a wife and seven children, three brothers, and four sisters, besides many friends to mourn his early death."
