Hertha (Eberhart) Blake, 97, of Sellersville, PA (formerly of Sparks, NV) went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at The Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, PA.
She was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Blake for 64 years. Hertha was born in Eureka, SD to the late Fred and Rosina (Maier) Eberhart.
She graduated from Northwestern Bible College in 1946 with a 2 year associates degree. Hertha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the founding Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship, Reno, NV and taught children’s classes in the Reno-Sparks area from 1948-2004. Hertha was a very active member of Faith Bible Church, Reno, NV, holding numerous positions. She was also an avid gardener.
Hertha moved to Pennsylvania with her husband in 2004. They joined Calvary Church in Souderton and became active in various helping ministries. Hertha’s love for the Lord influenced many in the congregation and at Rockhill.
She is survived by two sons, John Blake and wife, Colleen of Vancouver, WA, David Blake and wife, Michon of Harleysville, PA; a daughter, Naomi Wheeler and husband, Meredith of Plano, TX; five grandchildren, Suzanne, Sharon, Matthew, Benjamin and Rebekah; and five great-grandchildren, Gavriel, Eben, Asher, Temujin, and Tirzah; two brothers, Victor Eberhart of Bismarck, ND, Wilfred Eberhart and wife Frances, of Eureka, SD; two sisters-in-law, Verna Eberhart of Watertown, SD and Vera Eberhart of Eureka, SD.
In addition to her parents, Hertha was preceded in death by four brothers, Rueben, Alfred, Gideon, and Albert Eberhart.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Calvary Church, 820 Souderton Road (Route 113), Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964. Viewing one hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place at Calvary Church Cemetery.
