Jo-El Kimball, 48, from Harrah, OK, the loving son of Aubrey and Anita Kimball went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2006.

He served honorably in the Navy on the USS Proteus and was a volunteer firefighter with the Southwest Lincoln County and Bridge Creek Fire Departments. He worked as a Planner at Tinker before becoming ill.

He is survived by 3 sisters, Diann Neal, Cheryl Williams (John), Lydia Williams (Steve) and 1 brother, Aaron Kimball. He was the loving father of 6 special children - Mary Hudson, David Kimball, Daniel Kimball, Paul Kimball, James Kimball and Joanna Kimball. He is also survived by a precious grandson, Josiah 'Joe" Hudson and a new grandchild due in the summer of 2007.

'Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. " (Matthew 11:28  30).

Services will be Tuesday, December 19th at the Fairview Baptist Church of Shawnee with internment at Johnson Cemetery. Arrangements made through Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Our beloved husband and father, Jo-El Kimball left this life to join Christ on the evening of December 14th, 2006. He was born on Oct. 28, 1958. His parents chose his name because it means 'Jehovah is God". He graduated from Harrah High in 1976 as a first chair tuba player. Jo-El joined the Navy and served in Guam as an electrician on a sub tender, the USS Proteus. It was while in the Navy that he trusted in Christ as his Savior. He married Anita Lynn Cox in 1984 and over the last 22 years, their marriage was blessed with 6 children, a son-in-law, 1 grandchild and countless memories. He worked for Tinker AFB over 20 years. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for more than a decade. He loved helping those in distress. He served in the rescue efforts in both the Murrah Bombing, and after the May 3, 1999 tornado in our community, Bridge Creek. Jo-El loved the Lord and his wife and family, hunting, the Sooners, orphaned cats, the snow, and being a grandfather. He and his unique sense of humor will be sorely missed. Jo-El is survived by his wife Anita Lynn Kimball and their children Mary Hudson, David, Daniel, Paul, James, and Joanna Kimball, son-in-law Robert Hudson, grandson Josiah Hudson, Jo-El's parents Aubrey and Anita May Kimball, siblings Diann Neal, Cheryl Williams, Lydia Williams, Aaron Kimball. Services are Tuesday, December 19th at Fairview Baptist Church in Earlsboro.
