Leona Inez "Mimi" Demaret Hinson passed away January 15, 2013 at St Dominic's Village Nursing Home after a lengthy stay in their kind and loving care.

Mimi was born at home on March 31, 1920 in Houston. The eighth of nine children born to John O'Brien Demaret and Lilla May Winkler.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Mary, Lyman, Milton, James "Jimmy", Juanita "Nita", Darwin "Al", Jane, Mahlon and her husband James William "Jake" Hinson Jr.

She is survived by her three sons, Marc, Greg, Clay, daughter Sean, grandchildren Troy, Farah, Jaime, Lindsay, Codi, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mimi was a devout Catholic and a NASA retiree after 20 plus years of service. Her varied interests included all forms of dancing especially tap dancing and passing her love of dancing on to her grandchildren. Although her primary focus was always family and extended family, she had a kind and generous heart and was always willing to help a neighbor or stranger any way she could. Service are scheduled for 10:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77223. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Dominic's Village Nursing Home, 2409 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77021..
