Jack Neal McRee, age 66, died April 9, 2012 at his home in Adamsville as a result of complications from a long bout with emphysema.

He is survived by his brothers, Terry N. McRee of Sun City, AZ and Dale A. McRee of Hampton, GA; three nieces, two nephews, four great nieces, several special cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Nolan McRee.

Jack's family moved from Greenwood, AL to Panama City Beach, FL in 1955 to build and operate the Merri-Mac Motel. Jack graduated from Bay County High School in n1964 and served in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam War era. He was formerly married to Barbara Hidle and worked with her family in the restaurant business. Before moving back to Birmingham, he was an award winning salesman for Sunbeam Bread Company. Most recently, Jack worked for Eagle Security as a human resource manager. Jack was talkative and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He is especially grateful to his friends, Gwen and Jerry Goodwin and their family for the love and care they have shown him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Southeastern Hospice.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will take place in the chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, AL on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1 pm. For more information contact 205-967-8701.
