Born in Liberty on September 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Sallie Lucretia Chapman Cantrell.
Mrs. Phillips was a lover of music. She was the church organist for Arial United Methodist Church in Easley and was also a very talented artist.
Surviving are her children, Vicky Ellis (Rick) of Easley and Derrick Phillips (Susan) of Walhalla; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Cantrell King of Statesville, NC; a brother, Robert Cantrell (Katie) of Six Mile; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Billy Joe Simpson of Pickens.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Roy E. Cantrell.
Burial: Greenlawn Memorial Park.
