Son of Joseph Birdwell & Mrs. Joanna Elizabeth (Fisher) Jackson.
Grandson of George W. Birdwell and Matilda Garner.
Great-Grandson of Moses Birdwell & Hannah Falkindon.
Great-grandson of George Birdwell (1721-1781) and wife Mary (Looney).

Father of George William Birdwell.
"Encyclopedia of World Crime" by Jay Nash 1990 on Charles Arthur Floyd (AKA Pretty Boy Floyd): In October 1931, George William Birdwell, a 40-year-old travelling preacher who had "lost the calling" sought out Floyd in the Cookson Hills. Explaining that he had lost his job in the oil fields near Earlsboro and he had to support a hungry family, he begged the bandit to take him in as a fellow bank robber. Floyd taught Birdwell how to shoot automatics & submachine guns & then the 2 men went on a bank robbing spree that set records for the southwest. George William Birdwell was shot & killed 11-23-1932 during a bank robbery in Boley, OK. He is buried next to his brother & father in Seminole City Cemetery, Seminole, OK.

A family tree on the internet, however, says:
"Burial: Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley, Oklahoma County, OK." (now inside city limits of Oklahoma City). Others say Linn Grove is alternate name for Maple Grove.
