She died in 1941 at Oklahoma City.
In the 1940 census, aged 75, she was living with her youngest son James B. Birdwell and family in Oklahoma City. They are all shown in the 1941 city directory but in the 1942 city directory she was not listed.
A family tree said her husband was buried at "Linn Grove Cemetery in Oklahoma City," although he was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Linn Grove being an alternate name for Maple Grove. She is buried by her son James Bruce ("Jimmie") Birdwell at Resthaven Gardens in Oklahoma City but does not have a grave marker. Her obituary did not mention her son, the infamous George William Birdwell, who was a member of Pretty Boy Floyd's gang and was killed 22 years earlier.
