Maggie was the daughter of David Columbus and Mary Frances (Dillard) Barton. At the age of 24 she married Leo Burley Jerred in Polk County, Georgia. To this marriage a son, Robert, was born. They divorced in July of 1925 and remarried in December of 1925 and had two daughters, Ethel Margie and Mary Louise. Maggie and Leo later divorced in 1935. At the age of 46 Maggie married "Sam" Markell April of 1942 in Genesee County, Michigan and they divorced in 1945. She lived in Flushing and died at the age of 83.
