Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: James ECHOLS died aged 78 years; buried 08 JAN 1888 in Section A2, Lot 1210 - Sexton Abraham ODOM. [Galer's source was the sexton's card file (an index). The original burial record in the sexton's ledger book mentions that this individual was born in Georgia, died of "old age," and was buried in city A- 1210 (not A2-) as a non-resident of Columbus, Georgia.]
