Paperwork from Cemetery states that Emma was 72 years old at the time of her death in 1943. So that would mean that she was born in 1871. The headstone is incorrect for her date of birth.

Emma and her spouse William are a bit of mystery. We do know Emma was born Wisconsin as Emma Nyberg. We don't know how she ended up in Chicago. We believe Emma and William adopted Emma's nephew as a baby when his mother passed away shortly after his birth. Emma and William named him Robert Gibson (birth name was Rudolf Nyberg). They also had a biological daughter named Rosalind Gibson. William took care of Emma's funeral arrangements and believe may have lied on the date of birth on the headstone bc Robert did not know he was adopted. I believe they lied about Emma's age so Robert would not catch on. There is a plot next to Emma's at Mt. Greenwood cemetery for William but William was never buried there. He died a few months after Emma but he was cremated through Mt. Hope Cemetery a few blocks away from Mt. Greenwood cemetery. William is a giant mystery with lots of conflicting information and the facts for both Emma and William are few and far between.

However, we do know Robert and Rosalind had a good relationship (even after Robert eventually found out he was adopted.)
