"ESTIMABLE WOMAN HAS PASSED AWAY - Mrs J C Allen Died on Saturday Morning - Mrs Julia Cornwall Allen, one of the oldest and best known residents of the city, died at the family residence, 127 East Central avenue, Saturday morning at 4:20 o'clock. She had been in declining health for the past six months due to muscular heart trouble. Mrs Allen was born about three miles east of Pleasantville, July 9, 1843, and had been a resident of this community all her life. She was the widow of the late A H Allen and the mother of John C Allen, deceased. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs Martha Tubbs, and a son, Frank P Allen, both residing at the family home, a grandson, James Allen of Morgantown, W Va, son of Mrs Anna Allen Roden of Titusville. Four sisters, Mrs Emily Gerow of Cambridge Springs, Mrs Mary Gibbons of Franklin, Mrs Lucy Hawthorne of Middlefield, O, and Mrs Frances Keech of Pleasantville, also survive. Mrs Allen was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and took an active part in all church work until stricken with her late illness. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence with the interment following at Woodlawn cemetery."
