Inez Rose (Sewell) Seifert, 91, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Newcastle, died Sunday, October 30, 2016, in Oklahoma City. The daughter of James Sampson Sewell and Maisie Bessie (Tubbee) Sewell, she was born February 1, 1925 on a farm in Blanchard. Her mother was an original Choctaw Indian enrollee.

Inez was the sixth child of eight children. She attended Buffalo, Sunnyside, Blanchard, and St. Elizabeth’s schools and was chosen the Indian Princess at Chilocco Indian Boarding School where she attended until the 10th grade. During WWII, Inez worked for Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City. She married Cecil B. Seifert on March 26, 1944 in Oklahoma City, where they raised their two daughters. Inez was baptized non-denominational and attended Jesus Alive Church in Newcastle.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Cecil B. Seifert; her parents, James and Maisie Sewell; three brothers, Clifton, Jack, and James Sewell; and three sisters, Nora Campbell, Bessie King, and Marie Moriarty.

Inez leaves behind her two daughters, Phyllis Been of Oklahoma City and Marsha Miller and her husband, Gene, of Newcastle; one granddaughter, Jennifer Turner and her husband, Scott, of Oklahoma City; one great granddaughter, Julia Turner; one sister, Wanda Billings of Checotah; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Mary Lee Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, 1100 Howard Drive in Del City. Burial will follow in the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
