Sarajane “Jane” Buchanan (nee McNulty). Longtime resident of the East Side. Passed away October 27, 2016. Beloved wife of Robert for 53 years. Loving mother of Dr. Robert J. (Jeana) Buchanan and Michael (Oksana) Buchanan. Cherished grandmother of Brendan, Luke, Marina, Cameron, and Meriel. Dearest sister of Rosemary (Mike) Hurley, the late F. Robert (Marilyn) McNulty, the late James (Deborah) McNulty CFD. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Dear friend of many. Preceded in death by her parents Evelyn and Frank (CFD Division Marshal).
Jane was born on April 6, 1941 in Chicago and attended Saint Brides Elementary School and Aquinas Dominican High School. In 1963 she married Robert E. Buchanan, and together they have two sons, Dr. Robert and Michael. Jane was a broker with Buchanan Real Estate. Jane dedicated her life to taking care of her beloved family and friends and making every shared event, meal and holiday celebration abundantly joyful and special. She was a longtime participant in Saint Jude Novena services at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Chicago. Jane's boundless love and wonderful sense of humor were most appreciated and will be greatly missed.
Visitation Friday, November 4, 2016 from 2-9 pm. Funeral Services Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 9:30 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to Church of the Annunciata. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
