Funeral services for Mr. Charles Ray LaBorde will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brad Perkins officiating. Committal services will follow in the Occupy #1 Cemetery in Pitkin, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Charles Ray LaBorde, 64, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in Plainview. He was born on July 23, 1942 to the union of Barkley LaBorde and Lela Hatch LaBorde in Pineville. He was a Baptist by faith. He spent most of his life driving 18-wheelers and he was a stockcar race driver. He also liked hunting, being outdoors and cooking for his family and friends. He had two pets that he loved dearly, Baby Girl and Bam Bam.
His parents, Barkley and Lela LaBorde precede him in death. He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memories, his loving wife of thirty-four years, Nona Pearl Doyle LaBorde of Glenmora; three sons, Ray LaBorde and wife Ann of Oakdale, Neal LaBorde and wife Lynette of DeRidder and Gregory LaBorde of Shreveport; one daughter, Becki L. Clark and husband Chris of Plainview; two brothers, Erby and wife Katherine of Pitkin and Robert LaBorde and wife Annette of Oakdale; sixteen grandchildren, Joshua Norwood, Warren Odom, Megan LaBorde, Adrian LaBorde, Amy LaBorde, Alyssa LaBorde, Shelley LaBorde, Brandon LaBorde, Brian LaBorde, Neal LaBorde, Jr., Aaron LaBorde, Angel LaBorde, Caleb LaBorde, Cody Ray, Tyler LaBorde and Lexi Dickens; one great-grandson, Tristan LaBorde; many extended family members and friends. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Brad Heflin, Brandon LaBorde, Scotty LaBorde, Lynn Doyle, Warren Odom, Carlton Liberatore, Gregory LaBorde and Sanford Doyle. Honorary pallbearers honored to serve will be Warren Storme, C.J. Doyle, KayWayne Hargrove, Hilton Willis, Lloyd Thompson, Randy Webb, Alvin Goldberg, Jackie Thacker and Aubrey Chenevert.
