She was born to late W. P. and Hattie Doster on October 19, 1923 in Vaiden, MS. She married Lee Flowers Hamrick Jr. in 1949, and their home was in Greenwood, MS.
She was a member of the Greenwood Country Club Ladies Golf Association, The Junior Auxiliary and Garden Club of Greenwood, as well as The Church of the Nativity. Mrs. Smith enjoyed playing Bridge, was a talented artist and cook. She loved good conversation, good humor, and had many great friends. Always an optimist, and she truly bloomed where she was planted.
She lived most of her life in Greenwood, MS, and also resided in Yazoo City, and Nashville, TN.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Lee Flowers Hamrick III, John William Hamrick, Henry Ward Hamrick, and granddaughter Elizabeth Ashley Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband’s Lee Flowers Hamrick Jr., Seger Hamilton Collier and Walter (Buddy) Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Jackson (Barry), Madison, MS, and one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Acy Hamrick, Greenwood, MS. Sisters: Elaine Clodfleter, Jackson, MS, Mabel D. Kirby, Tennessee, Margie Hovas (Donnie) Greenwood, MS. Grandchildren: Natalie Rivers Jackson, Lee Flowers Hamrick IV, Katherine Hamrick Atkinson (Hugh), Robert Charles Hamrick (Jill), Henry Ward Hamrick Jr. and 5 great grandchildren.
