Thomas Devane married Frances Bloodworth, a daughter of
Senator Timothy Bloodworth(1736/8 - 1814) & Priscilla Jones on 30 Sept 1784. (New Hanover Co., NC Deed Bk H pg 206. Timothy deeded his son-in-law Thomas Devane s/o John Devane 1734-1806) 100 acres of land on E. side of Black River.).
Thomas and Francis Devane had 2 daughters, Ann & Mary. Ann Devane (m. Col. Wm.Jones, Jr, son of Margaret DeVane Poitevint Jones & William Jones( -1809) of Long Creek had 4 children; 2nd Howard Hurley) and Mary Devane m. Powell Torrence.

Ann and Mary's father, Thomas, had died in 1805 and they inherited his 1/9 share of his father, John DeVane's estate, who also died in 1805.
Thomas Devane was left land "where he now lives" by his father, John Devane, Sr. whose will was written in 1783 probated 1806. The Will is filed in Bladen Co., NC Court records Bk. I page 374-5.
This Thomas DeVane(1758/9 - 1805 left a Will written 11 April 1805 New Hanover Co NC. It was probated June Term 1805 ( New Hanover Co., NC Court- Will Bk. Vol. C pg. 83) The Will names his wife, Frances and names daughters Mary and Ann. He had no sons. This Thomas has been confused with his first-cousin, Thomas DeVane III(1762-1831) a son of Thomas DeVane II(c.1725-1817).
The executors of Thomas Devane's Will were James DeVane(his brother) and John Bludworth(his brother in law). Witnesses were: William Devane, Sr.(his brother) Benjamin DeVane(his nephew:James's son) & Thomas Rogers. Will was probated at the June Court 1805 and proven by Benjamin DeVane. James DeVane was named executor.
Timothy Bloodworth deeded his son-in-law, Thomas Devane, 100 acres of land on the East side of Black River ( See Deed Book H pg 206 New Hanover Co., NC ) "... for the good will & esteem which I bear to my son-in-law Thomas DeVane. Signed 1784 by Timothy Bloodworth ).
Minutes of the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions 1805-1808 17 June 1805: Francis Devane, widow of Thomas Devane dec'd came into court and made known her dissent to the Will of her said husband. Another entry: Ann Devane d/o Thomas chose John Bloodworth(1765-1824)- her uncle (brother to Francis, her mother) as her guardian giving bond of 4500 Lbs with James Devane(Uncle)(1757-1840) & Thomas Devane(an Uncle)(1762-1831) as securities.(James & Thomas was brother to Thomas dec'd ).
