BALAS, Ruth M. 95, of Dayton passed away peacefully at , Nov. 3rd, 2016. She was born June 24th, 1921 to Charles and Verna Mason in Virginia. She moved to Dayton, Ohio upon marriage to Joseph Balas. Her faith in God was very important to her and she was a long time member of Linden Ave. Baptist Church, currently a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton and also attended Corinth Presbyterian Church. She loved square dancing and was a member of Corinth Retirees, Lymphedema Support Group, Anna Circle, NALC Auxiliary 138 and Burroughs Nature Study Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother, Vivian Mason and sisters, Rebecca Weaver and Eulaleur Burke. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lewis; sister, Carolee Johnson; grandson, Samuel (Theresa) McKamey IV; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; adopted daughter, Cindy and special friend Donnie along with many dear friends who have helped care for her over the years. She was loved by all who met her.
